Herefordshire Military Choirs Fund
A Story of Music, Community, and Remembrance
The Primary Aim of the Fund is to benefit the County, particularly in relation to supporting military choirs in Herefordshire, their members, veterans and their families, through activities that promote physical and emotional wellbeing through singing.
In early 2025, a collaboration blossomed between members of Herefordshire Military Choirs and Robby Toner Music. Robby invited a group of choir members to his studio to learn and perform the timeless classic Con Te Partirò (Time to Say Goodbye)—in Italian—as part of a special Remembrance fundraiser. This remarkable project was conceived, funded, and produced entirely by Robby himself.
Affectionately nicknamed “The Italian Job,” fourteen courageous amateur singers embraced the challenge. Over the course of three months, they honed their skills under Robby’s patient and professional guidance—overcoming frustrations and building confidence.
Their dedication culminated in a powerful studio recording and a breathtaking video filmed inside the awe-inspiring Hereford Cathedral—a setting as grand and moving as the song itself. Featuring Robby both performing and leading his “Italian Job” team and the Marches Military Wives Choir, the final piece radiates emotion, reverence, and unity.
The result is nothing short of extraordinary. Visually and vocally, the performance captures the true spirit of Remembrance—honouring those who served, while celebrating the teamwork, passion, and perseverance that made it possible. Watch the video here.

Bravo, Robby Toner Music – take a well-deserved bow.
PROCEEDS from this project will go to Herefordshire Military Choirs Fund, to promote and support musical and choral education and development for military veterans and their families who are members of military choirs in Herefordshire. This may encompass supporting choir practices, rehearsals, live concerts, performances and attendance at social choral events. A primary aim of the fund is to enhance psychologial well being, personal enjoyment and social welfare of military choir members through their community engagement with music and singing.
