About the Friends of Ledbury and District Healthcare Fund

The primary aim of the Fund is to support activities that:

  • Help in the relief of patients who are in need of assistance.
  • Facilitate the relief of sickness by supporting healthcare workers in the performance of their work.

Types of Activities

The Fund has supported voluntary and community groups providing help and welfare to local residents, including first aid courses in the community.

  • Help with purchasing equipment for use in homes or clinics.
  • Help with setting up medical projects.
  • Help in supporting sick patients during their illness and recovery.
  • Help with further education courses that will benefit local healthcare.

Who can apply?

Applications are welcome from community groups, GP surgeries, and referrals on behalf of individuals.

Beneficiaries must be part of the ‘District’ as defined by the area served by Ledbury Community Hospital.

This would roughly be bordered to the North by the A4103 (Hereford to Worcester road); to the South by the M50; to the East by the Malvern Hills; and to the West by Marcle Ridge.

It would approximately accommodate the parishes of the Ledbury Deanery and part of the Dymock Team (Benefice of Leadon Vale).

Please see the map of the area.

NOTE: The Fund is not able to support maintenance costs for equipment or revenue costs, including staff salaries.
