Support for hyper-local, community-led projects across Herefordshire

Herefordshire Community Foundation is delighted to be administering the Small Sparks Fund, a new microgrant scheme designed to support hyper-local, community-led projects across Herefordshire on behalf of Herefordshire Council.
The fund is part of £2.1m of UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) allocated to Herefordshire to support local communities and businesses over the next three years.
Small Sparks has £50,000 to distribute to support informal, grassroots initiatives and priority will be given to inclusive and accessible community activity. Applications are invited from residents and informal groups and local community organisations, clubs, or groups.
Grants of up to £1,000 are available to fund small-scale ideas that bring people together, build local connections, and strengthen community resilience. Projects should be community-led, based in Herefordshire and delivered by 28th February 2026.
Bride Sullivan, CEO of Herefordshire Community Foundation tells us a bit more about the importance of small community-led projects:
“We are excited to launch the Small Sparks programme, recognising that even modest grants can have a meaningful impact in local communities. These funds will enable grassroots groups to host activities, test new ideas, and spark connections that bring people together and help communities thrive.”“
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until 30 November 2025, or until the fund is fully allocated, whichever comes first and early submission is strongly encouraged.
