Herefordshire Businesses Unite to Award £14,500 in Grants to Local Charities

The Business for Good Fund, facilitated by the Herefordshire Community Foundation (HCF), has awarded a total of £14,562 in grants to 10 local charities. In the first round of funding through its Community Chest Programme, a local business-led panel made up of Business for Good Fund members, selected projects that support older people, sports, the arts, disability services, mental health, and social isolation.

The initiative demonstrates the collective power of the local business community in
addressing critical needs across Herefordshire.

Craig Smith, Head of Education & Quality Assurance at Minerva Elite Performance, commented on the impact of the fund:
“It was a privilege to be exposed to the projects, charities, and support available within Herefordshire’s community. As a business that contributes to this fund, it was incredible to see just how far our contribution can go in improving the quality of people’s lives.”

John Finch, MD of John Finch Computers, added:
“It was an honour to be part of the Community Chest panel and to see first-hand the impact these grants can have. The passion and commitment behind the work supported by Herefordshire Community Foundation is truly inspiring.”
